M.H.C.C. provides Contra Costa County with three Wellness and Recovery Centers. The centers offer
a safe, secure and non-judgmental atmosphere for mental health consumers to socialize, learn and
receive peer support. Our centers are funded by the Contra Costa County Mental Health Division,
grants and private donations.
Groups and activities may include:
- Anger management
- Stress management
- Managing and adapting to change
- Co-occurring disorders
- Men's and women's groups
- Tools to ensure that wellness/recovery happens and is maintained
- Field trips
- Self-esteem groups
- Gentle yoga
- Life skills
- Writing as a path to healing
- Identifying and coping with triggers
- Building healthy relationships
- Tai Chi
- Chi Gong
- Meditation
- Using deep breathing as a tool for relaxation and healing
- Patients' rights
- Developing and maintaining boundaries
- Nutrition
- Weekly discussion on various health-related topics
- Art expression
- Mindfulness
- W.R.A.P.
- Getting in shape, treadmill, Pilates and other forms of strength training
All Centers are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
